Privacy Policy

Your privacy managed right.

Last reviewed May 2022

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when using this website and our wider services.

Your data is your data. Therefore, we do not use it in any other way than to provide the services as described. This with your explicit consent. It does not get any more straightforward than that.

With data laws governing what we all do these days, the full legal GDPR explanation is below.

This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions. In summary, when you use our website and wider services, we both agree to be nice to each other. In a world where everyone sues each other, sometimes just for the sake of it, we prefer the old fashioned way, accepting that when the parties (you and us) disagree about something, we simply talk, compromise and let common sense prevail. Quite refreshing, don’t you think?

By using our website and wider services you agree to both our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, including our ‘be nice’ approach. If you disagree, please do not use our website or wider services. If at any time you change your mind after joining and using our service, would like to stop giving your consent, or do not agree with any of our policies or terms, please email us at the address below and we will permanently delete any personal data in our system. Unfortunately, you would then have to stop using our website.

There is no small print in our policy about wide-sweeping covert ‘uses of your data’. Simply put, the data is yours, and yours alone. We do not use your data in any way outside the scope of the service we provide, to which you have provided your consent under our terms of use.

Scope

We operate under the EU General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK-GDPR)

Aside from the legal GDPR obligations, we treat your data very differently to that of other organisations. As an anonymous service provider, privacy and information security are paramount to our operation.

By the nature of our service, we are responsible for the safekeeping of our member's personal data and use our best endeavours and take all reasonable safeguards to ensure the safe storage of our member's data at all times.

Under data protection regulations we are required to set out the following:

From time to time, we use social media to promote and advertise our services. If you use any social media sites, you are naturally subject to their specific privacy policies. From our perspective, we do not store any such data.

Lawful Purpose

We will only use your supplied information to carry out your instructions and maintain an ongoing business relationship with you and/or your company or organisation.

Our lawful reason for processing your personal information will be ‘Legitimate Interests’ for business-to-business clients and contacts. This lawful purpose allows Setyourworth.com to process your personal information on the basis we have a genuine and legitimate reason for doing so and providing we are not harming any of your rights and/or interests.

That said, we take your privacy very seriously and therefore will delete your personal contact information upon request. Please see the instructions below. Please note that if you are an employee of a business, we will no longer be able to process any request for services on behalf of your employer.

For sole traders and consumers, our lawful reason for processing and storing your personal information will be ‘to fulfil a contract’ and thereafter ongoing ‘consent’ to deliver the services as described. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Where we use third-party service providers, associated organisations, agents, or sub-contractors to deliver our service, we will only disclose the minimum personal information that is strictly necessary for them to deliver the outsourced services and where we have legal contracts in place that requires them to keep your information secure, and not to use it for any other purpose other than the execution of the contract in place. Any third party will be contracted to delete any information having fulfilled any contract with Setyourworth.com. We operate a strict Information & Security Policy.

Where we collect information on our website to process your enquiry and improve our services, for example via our contact us, or registration forms, you agree we can contact you to share progress updates with you about our services, which are linked to you attaining a new role, better pay or another aspect of your career pathway. As previously mentioned, consent can be withdrawn at any time, and your personal information deleted.

We will not share your information for marketing purposes with any company or third party unless explicitly linked to our service delivery or where you have provided consent.

Transferring your information outside of Europe

As part of the services offered to you through this website, the information you provide may or may not be transferred to countries outside the European Union. This is due to some of our third-party providers such as Google, Microsoft and other IT-related resources having offices or servers outside the European Union.

Profiling

We do not automatically profile any of the data we hold with the view of marketing or sending unsolicited, unrelated offers or services not linked to your career pathway. When communicating with you, we will update your personal information within our Management Information System to meet our contractual responsibilities. Your interests and preferences may also be recorded within your profile record.

Marketing

To deliver the service we have agreed, we will obviously need to contact you from time to time. Some may deem this marketing. As such, we would state that we would like to maintain an ongoing relationship with you and will do so under the lawful basis as indicated above. Where you are a company or sole trader, and a business relationship is not yet established, we would like to send you information about our services which we believe you would have a genuine interest in.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you. To opt-out, please email datacontroller@setyourworth.com

Please note if you are an employee of a company, opting out will prevent us from providing services to your employer.

If you have a specific data retention query, please write to datacontroller@setyourworth.com

We will acknowledge your request upon receipt.

You may also use the above contact to request amendments or corrections to the data we hold, object to processing some or all your data, or exercise your ‘right to be forgotten’.  For your convenience, we have included a ‘Delete my profile’ button within each account. This provides you with a one-click option to permanently delete ALL personal data held in our system.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may occasionally make changes to this Privacy Policy without your consent. Following any changes, the date at the top of the Privacy Policy will be updated.
